NEWS CENTRE - Reactions continue to the images shared by one of the gangs affiliated with HTS, DAISH and Turkey, showing a female resistance fighter having her hair cut. Women have launched a hair braiding campaign.
 
A video was published on digital media showing Ramî El Deheş, a member of HTS, DAISH and gangs affiliated with Turkey, cutting the hair of a female YPJ resistance fighter he had murdered in Raqqa and giving it as a gift to another gang. The torture carried out by the gangs caused outrage in Kurdistan and around the world. 
 
Women activists, journalists and friends of the Kurdish women's movement paid their respects at the funeral of the female resistance fighter who lost her life, a symbol of the YPJ's struggle for popular freedom. Alongside the resistance fighter's funeral, women expressed their commitment to the struggle of the women's revolution in Rojava with songs and slogans. The images featured the phrases ‘Instead of one funeral, there are millions of funerals’, ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadî’ and ‘Our funerals will be their end’.

Yazidi women rescued from DAISH's oppression by the YPJ launched a campaign called ‘These funerals will scare you.’ Welcomed with great interest in line with the spiritual values of the Yazidi faith, this campaign increased social solidarity and sent a powerful message.
