NEWS CENTRE - Thousands of Kurds in Münster marched to the NATO building to protest the attacks against the Kurdish people in Rojava.
The event, organised by TCS Münster Youth, Münster Local Council and the Women's Movement in Germany, saw widespread participation. The march began at Münster Central Station (Münster HBF). Passing through the city's busiest streets, the crowd chanted slogans such as ‘Bijî berxwedana Rojava’ (Long live the resistance of Rojava), ‘Bijî yekîtiya gelê Kurd’ (Long live the unity of the Kurdish people), ‘Jin jiyan azadî’ (Women, life, freedom) and ‘Şehîd namirin’ (Martyrs never die). The march ended in front of the NATO building in Münster.
In statements made in front of the NATO building, it was emphasised that the ongoing attacks in Rojava are unacceptable, and the silence of the international powers was protested. Following the statements, the Kurds marched back to Münster HBF, ending the protest.
In the final statement made during the action, it was stated that protests would continue as long as the attacks against the Kurdish people in Rojava continued. It was also announced that a new action would be held today at 6 p.m., gathering again at Münster HBF.
