NEWS CENTER- The ICRC has issued an urgent appeal for aid for families forced to flee due to attacks in North and East Syria. The ICRC demands that access to humanitarian aid be facilitated immediately.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) issued a statement regarding the attacks on North and East Syria. The statement emphasized the plight of families compelled to flee their cities due to the inadequacy of services.
It was clear that the attacks endangered essential civilian infrastructure, including water pumping stations, dams, and electricity networks. The same danger existed in detention and camp centers.
The Committee's statement made the following appeal: "Civilians, the wounded, the sick, and those held in prisons and camps must be protected. It is imperative that essential items for civilian infrastructure and civilians be protected. Health centers, ambulances, and emergency services must be protected. The safe and voluntary movement of displaced civilians must be facilitated. Those wishing to return must be allowed to do so safely, and the safety of those wishing to remain must be ensured. Access to humanitarian aid must be facilitated."
