Abya Yalalı women in Latin America issued a statement regarding the attacks by HTS, DAISH, and gangs affiliated with Turkey on Northern and Eastern Syria. In the statement titled “We defend Rojava,” they pointed out that the resistance in Rojava has become a global symbol and that this resistance should be recognized not only as a regional but also as a global people's struggle.

 

'Rojava has set an example for the whole world'

 

The statement said: "The popular resistance in Rojava has set an example that has attracted the attention of the whole world. Led by women, this resistance sheds light not only on the struggle of the people of the region, but also on the struggle of all the peoples of the world. Today, Rojava's resistance is a symbol of the struggle of all women, of all peoples. This resistance has become a voice for the demands for freedom and equality not only in Rojava, but throughout the world."

 

“We are raising our voices against the attacks”

 

In the statement, the women of Abya Yalalı also stated that they have formed a united voice to defend Rojava against the gangs supported by the Syrian and Turkish states. “We, as women, are raising our voices against the attacks in Helebê. These attacks are not only a threat to Rojava, but to all human values."
